About United Military Classifieds: OUR MISSION: The mission of United Military Classifieds, LLC is to provide the United States military community with the best possible online classified network specifically designed to serve the men and women who serve our nation each day. Our affiliate network will provide users with an ever increasing audience of viewers for their posted classified ads. We aim to work with other site owners to build a network that creates lasting benefits for those owners while improving the lives of all who use our service. Progressive principles have been incorporated into the structure of our site from the beginning. We believe all firms have a responsibility to our planet and society. We’ve structured our site and affiliate program to maintain stability and longevity for all users and site owners. At the same time, we have dedicated a section of the site to generate revenue for social programs benefiting the military community as well as environmental issues. These revenues will grow as we accept new affiliates to the network. We’re excited about the future and look forward to building relationships with other site owners serving the military community. OUR HISTORY: United Military Classifieds was created on July 22nd of 2008 followed by several months of website development. The concept for the website came from the owners experience in the market through another venture. The limitations of a military classified ad website became clear and the decision was made to form an affiliate program through a new firm. We believe this niche market can only be properly served through widespread cooperation from other site owners serving the military community.
We remain committed to our goal of building an affiliate network that will benefit users and affiliate members while maintaining the service and our focus on environmental and social issues. We hope you enjoy the unique service provided by this website and network. Please email us if you have any location or category suggestions. Thanks for visiting!
A little more about us...
Hello everyone, my name is Richard but I also go by Rick. I started United Military Classifieds after my experience building TheBaseLemonLot.com, which has now been converted to run this this network software exclusively. I'm the Owner and Managing Member for both of these small business concerns. I frequently mention "us" and “we” throughout the websites; there are several reasons for this. One reason is to acknowledge the help I had along the way while developing this network. Another reason I say "us" and “we” is to maintain a professional image for visitors and users. Often, I say "us" and “we” to recognize the members of what I hope will become a strong network providing a valuable service to those who serve us everyday. I spent twelve great years in the U.S. military working primarily as a maintainer on F-16s. My brother and I thought of the idea for my original site, TheBaseLemonLot.com, in 2003. This was during a time of great uncertainty in my life. In the years since, a long and painful development of that original site convinced me the only way to provide this type of service was to build a network of related websites with affiliates sharing common data; this is why I formed United Military Classifieds, LLC.
This is me and Maureen (my wife). We were married in April of 2008 and Maureen has given as much to help support the creation of this network as I have. She has spent many hours helping me update a database with marketing and base information. Much of what we originally started working on has changed and our base listing changed a little at the last minute in the hopes of providing somewhat broader coverage. We’re going to refine our base listing over time but didn’t want to drop anyone. From the beginning, the goal of this service was to serve as many bases as possible (both large and small). Maureen gave up four years of her life and career to support my overseas job and career. I'll finish my degree in May of this year and our challenge now is to find a place where we can both find rewarding work. We both look forward to the next phase of our life together and hope it includes a little less work after work.
This is Stockholm; we call him “Stocky” for short. I like to think of Stocky as the manager of our Customer Service Department. Sure, this is a little unprofessional but I figure if someone puts all their hopes, money and time into a site – they should be able to talk about their pet. Stocky came into our lives in May of 2008 and he was rescued by a woman who couldn’t keep him. The woman who gave him to us said he was a Lab/Newfoundland mix. We’re not sure exactly; I mean he looks mostly lab and you can tell he has something else in him but we're not sure if it is Newfoundland or not. Either way, we’re guessing he’ll be huge based on his paws. He has big webbed feet and enjoys the water. He’s very loving and sweet when he is calm. The pictures are a little dated and he's bigger now. We’ve worked with him a lot to get him in shape and his energy is much better but he still loves to snooze...
I'd like to express my warmest "thanks" to the following: All the members of my family. We've missed so many years together but I hope one day this and many other ideas of mine will benefit you all. My friends and coworkers from the Minnesota Air National Guard - very little of what I have in my life today would be possible without those wonderful years of service. I'll forever be in your debt. Thank you all for everything! Your friend, Rick
